About the
AD Study
The COMPASS-2 AD study is studying an investigational injectable treatment that’s designed to help block certain signals in the body that may contribute to inflammation in people with atopic dermatitis.
There are three groups in this study, and if you are eligible to participate, you will be randomly assigned to one of these groups (like drawing numbers from a hat). Everyone who participates in the study will receive both the study drug and the placebo, but the doses and the order in which the drug or placebo is received will vary depending on the group you are assigned to. Neither you nor the study doctor will know which group you are assigned to.In this study, some participants will receive the investigational medication, and others will receive a placebo. A placebo looks just like the investigational medication but does not contain active medicine. This helps researchers compare results across groups.
You May Qualify If:
Are 18 to 75 years old
Have had atopic dermatitis for at least 1 year 
Have moderate to severe eczema — meaning it affects a noticeable area of your skin and causes ongoing symptoms that impact your daily life
Have tried prescription treatments that didn’t fully control your symptoms

What Does Participation Look Like?
Study Phases
Screening Period
Before you officially join the study, the team will spend some time getting to know your health history and how your eczema affects you. This helps everyone determine whether the study is a good fit. During this step, you may:
- Talk through your medical history
- Review the eczema treatments you currently use or have used in the past
- Have your skin checked by the study team
- Provide blood samples and other routine health tests
- Have medical photos taken of your eczema lesions
This part of the process ensures the study can be carried out safely and that your health needs are fully considered.
Study Treatment Period
If you qualify and decide to move forward, you’ll take part in a series of study visits over the treatment period.
These visits give you a chance to connect with the study team regularly while they monitor your progress. At these visits, the team will:
Look closely at your skin to see how it’s responding
Ask about your symptoms, and how eczema is affecting your
day-to-day life.
- Check in on your overall health and well-being
- Collect blood samples and perform other routine health tests
- Take medical photos of your eczema lesions
- Provide your study medication at no cost
If anything changes with your health, your study doctor may adjust or pause your study treatment to keep you safe. And always remember — you’re free to leave the study at any point, for any reason.
Follow-up Period
There will be two follow-up visits that will occur 30-45 days after your last dose of study medication. These check-ins allows the study team to see how you’re feeling and wrap up any remaining information needed from your participation.
